THE STORY BEHIND WOMEN’S DHEA-F
Although key cells in the brain make DHEA, the adrenal glands manufacture the majority of the body’s DHEA. It was first isolated in 1954.
Wild yam has been used for centuries by Native Americans and early settlers for a variety of issues. These include women’s health, targeted gut support and gastrointestinal issues, energy and joint health. It is perhaps best-known today for supporting the health of mature women.
False unicorn grows in the eastern half of North America. Native Americans used this plant for women’s health, including menstruation and occasional nausea. As a result, European doctors later recommended it to help modulate menstruation.
Native to the Mediterranean region and Asia, chaste berries have been used for more than 2,000 years. This plant was named for a belief that the berry could help lower the libido. The berries were used in Ancient Rome for that very purpose. During the Middle Ages, another nickname was applied: monk’s pepper.
